Dr Cathy Naughton, MD

Dr Cathy Naughton, MD attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Life Sciences. She received her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr Naughton completed her post-graduate general surgical and subspecialty urological surgery residency training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. She then received the American Foundation for Urologic Disease (AFUD) Research Award Scholarship. She subsequently completed a clinical fellowship in Male Infertility and Microsurgery with Anthony J. Thomas, Jr., MD at the Glickman Urological Institute at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She was Assistant Professor, Director of Male Infertility and Microsurgery at Washington University School of Medicine from 2001-2006.

Dr Cathy Naughton is a current member of the American Board of Urology, board certified in 2003. Dr Naughton’s professional society memberships include the American Urological Association, Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Society for Male Reproduction and Urology, and American Society of Andrology. She is presently the President of the Society of Women in Urology. Dr Naughton has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Urology, Urology, Journal of Andrology, and Biology of Reproduction. She has presented her work at national meetings and has been invited to lecture locally, regionally, and nationally. Dr Naughton was awarded the National Kidney Foundation Research Fellowship, twice awarded the Pfizer Scholarship in Urology Award, Society for Male Reproduction and Urology Travel Award, American College of Surgeons Faculty Research Fellowship and the Association of American Medical Colleges Early Career Women Faculty Professional Development Seminar in addition to National Institutes of Health Basic Science research grants to study mediators of spermatogenesis.

Dr. Naughton has joined Metropolitan Urological Specialists to pursue her clinical interests in Male Infertility, Microsurgery, Female Sexual Function, Sexual Function of the Couple, Urologic Care for Women and Female Adolescents.
